We recently encountered an issue in AutoCAD for Mac, where once we have successfully created a Network Project, files wouldn’t save in this location.
The Issue
The Shared project was created without issue, however once we tried to safe files to this shared location, it would attempt to save, but be unable to. There was no error message, but the files were clearly not saved.
Troubleshooting
If files are unable to save into a folder this often points to a permissions issue. It is best to ensure that the user you are signed in as, has full access to this folder location. We quickly established that this user had full permissions. In this case it could be a communication issue between the machine and the location.
The Resolution
After further investigation, we discovered that the file sharing protocol that Mac was using for this location was no longer supported. When working on a Mac it is always best practice to ensure the network folders comply with supported protocols. The protocol in use on this location was AFS, which has dropped off support since the release of Big Sur 11.0.
You can see the latest protocols on the link below.
